2023 News Update

We hope that you are well and have had a restful and peaceful festive period.

We would like to profoundly thank you all for supporting Cherish International for the last 17 years and express our gratitude for all your generous and kind contributions which have substantially improved the lives of over 400 underprivileged children in and around different centres across Malawi.

Please find below a few messages of gratitude from these centres where your generosity is helping save hundreds of lives daily.

Message from Hilda (Haven of Rest Feeding Centre)

“Dear Cherish International Donors,

Warm greetings!

On behalf of all our children we would like to thank you for your faithful monthly support. We are truly so grateful for your kind gesture. It is very much appreciated.

As you are aware, Malawi is in a serious economic crisis and people are really struggling to get basic commodities. We are so challenged when we see how Chiswe village from feeding 80 children are now having to feed 100, but through your generous donations we are able to share with them. This is indeed a great blessing, and we thank God for Cherish International."

Borehole Project 2023

Residents in the smaller villages around the Phalombe area have been walking approximately 1-2 miles in scorching hot temperatures to fetch water for daily use.

With your kind donations and support, Cherish International has helped those in need by donating five boreholes in villages around this area.

Message from Jane (BCV Feeding Centre)

"We would like to highlight one of our most valued relationships with Cherish International.  This organisation has been partnering with BCV for several years now.  Over the years they have assisted us with a variety of projects in addition

to consistent financial contributions to help us with our daily operations of serving the children in our campus and community in Phalombe.  This article will highlight the most recent projects from this calendar year relating to the boreholes they have drilled and supplied for our city.

Cherish International has made a long -term investment that increases the sustainability of our community.  A functional water borehole is an asset that also increases the value of our land and people.

This year, Cherish International has made five of these long-term investments in the city of Phalombe.  Five separate instances of benevolence and we are most grateful.  Phalombe has been forever changed and we will never forget the kindness."

In The Pipeline for 2024

In 2023, in addition to providing boreholes for those in need, we also donated blankets to those impacted by the aftermath of Cyclone Freddie and we plan to carry on doing the same in 2024 too. Coupled with your generous contributions, Cherish International is also hoping to assist even more villages across these poverty-stricken villages with boreholes installations. We are planning to supply at least five more boreholes by May 2024 in villages across Lunzu, where locals are struggling with their water and sanitary needs.

About Cherish International

Cherish International, a UK-based charity, has been established to look after the well-being and welfare of underprivileged children and orphans living in Africa and Asia. A large number of these children struggle to fend for themselves, with little or no support from the government or their families. Our mission is to help these youths gain access to support, by providing the necessary funds to meet the costs of providing food, basic healthcare and education, among other needs.

We wish you all the best for the upcoming year and would like to express our sincere thanks for everything you have done to support people in need.
